1. Assistance to make Micro_robots
With regard to MIROSOT'97, if anybody is not in a position to make robot hardware systems, due to time limitation, we wish to invite them to KAIST for preparing the same. We will be able to help them in making the robots. Kindly let us know whether you wish to avail this offer. Those who wish to come to KAIST in this regard, are requested to come here at lest one month prior to MIROSOT'97. As most of us are working in Universities, we hope, you will be able to send your project students.
2. International Joint Team (IJT) - Due date
MIROSOT participants wishing to register as an International Joint Teams (IJT) with a KAIST team, please contact Prof. Jong-Hwan Kim at 'johkim@vivaldi.kaist.ac.kr'. The DUE DATE is April FIRST.
3. MIROSOT'97 Advertisement Videotapes in NTSC & PAL formats
We are in the process of mailing booklets and videotapes (NTSC) on MIROSOT'97, to all committee members. Kindly let us know, if you wish to have a PAL version of the advertisement videotape.
4. Joint BANQUET on June 5th with 35 techno-city Mayors
On the final day of MIROSOT'97 competitions, we will be hosting a joint banquet with members of the Technopolis Summit. Around 35 techno-city Mayors world wide, will be attending the same.
5. Federation of International Robot-soccer Association (FIRA)
It is gratifying to know that, the draft proposal of bylaws of the much awaited Federation of International Robot-soccer Association (FIRA) is under final scrutiny. Thanks to the much efforts from Prahlad Vadakkepat, Russel Stonier and KAIST colleagues with full support and encouragements from MIROSOT community at large. From a broader perspective, the title of the association is changed. All MIROSOT committee members will be invited to form FIRA assembly.
We hope to establish FIRA during MIROSOT'97, with the blessings from 35 techno-city mayors, on June 5th during the joint banquet. The maiden meeting of the FIRA assembly, will be convened during MIROSOT'97.
FIRA will be getting registered as a non-government international scientific body as per the directions from the Korea Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). This is being done with an aim to organize MIROSOT'98 along with World Cup in Paris, under the auspices of FIRA.

Dear Dr Kim,
I have reviewed your draft constitution and find that it is a very thorough document. You have gone a long way in institutionalizing the games which were very well organized but casual. You have now added structure to the event. The challenge that you face is to insure that the general robotics community benefits from the games.
Please keep me informed as to the progress that you are making in forming the new organization.

7. FIRA - Regional Associations/Local chapters
In order to propagate the objectives of FIRA, we have to establish local chapters/regional associations world wide. Kindly encourage scientists and engineers to form local chapters of FIRA, at your Universities/Industries.
8. Accommodation for MIROSOT'97 participants
Limited rooms in KAIST guest house will be reserved for MIROSOT'97 participants. Room allotments will be made on, first come first serve basis. Those who wish to avail this are requested to contact the MIROSOT secretariat at the earliest, preferebly on or before 1st April.
9. Registration and submission of papers - DUE on April FIRST
All participants of MIROSOT'97 competitions and workshop may please note, the last date for registration is April FIRST.
10. Announcement on HUMANIOD Robot-soccer tournament
A new category, HUMANOID Robot-soccer Tournament will be included in FIRA games soon. A humaniod robot shall have two legs. The size of robot shall be limited to 40cm in height and 15cm in diameter. The legs shall be within a diameter of 15cm. The related game rules are under preparation. We wish to include this category in FIRA games in the year of 1999.
