1. Welcome to MIROSOT'97.
The MIROSOT community extends a warm welcome to all participants and office bearers of FIRA, to KAIST to participate in MIROSOT'97 and to witness the formation of the Federation of International
Robot-Soccer Association (FIRA) on June 5th. Around 30 teams from 13 overseas countries are expected to participate in MIROSOT'97.
Those who are interested in serving FIRA are requested to take part in its activities as an Assembly member. You are requested to contact Professor Jong-Hwan Kim. Details on FIRA is available at.
2. MIROSOT'97 Paper Format.
MIROSOT'97 participants are requested to submit a paper on their robots and strategies followed. IEEE conference format (ex. IEEE Robotics and Automation format), can be followed. Please bring a camera-ready form while coming to attend MIROSOT'97. A postscript or binary file is preferred for email submission.
3. MIROSOT'97 Registration and Reservation Forms.
MIROSOT'97 Registration Fee :
Regular participants : 150 USD (till May 25th)
170 USD (after May 25th)
Students : 50 USD (till May 25th)
70 USD (after May 25th)
Banquet : 50 USD
* The registration fee includes entry to all technical sessions of MIROSOT'97, tournament, welcome reception (31st May), social events (2nd June), banquet (5th June), copy of MIROSOT'97 summary videotape and copy of proceedings (inclusive of mailing charges).
* Student registration fee does not include banquet and social events.
MIROSOT'97 Registration and Reservation forms are available ator may please contact the secretariat. Please submit the same at the earliest.
4. Special Issue of the Int. Journal of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing on MIROSOT'97.
The official journal of World Automation Congress (WAC), "Int. J. of Intelligent Automation and Soft Computing", will publish a special issue on MIROSOT. The special issue will contain selected papers from MIROSOT'97 workshop.
5. List of Techno-cities Associated with World Technopolis Summit in Conjuction with MIROSOT'97.
34 mayors from the following techno-cities will be attending the World Technopolis Summit at Taejon, Korea. They will be visiting KAIST on June 5th to watch the final games of MIROSOT'97 and to witness the formation of FIRA.

6. FIRA Net -.
We are happy to announce the launching of a separate www page on FIRA.will be available shortly. All FIRA related information will be available at this site. Information on FIRA activities, details on FIRA_games, world ranking and records of FIRA_games' participants and related issues will be available at this site.
7. FIRA Assembly and Executive Committee Meetings.
The maiden meeting of FIRA assembly will be held on June 2nd 1997 at KAIST during MIROSOT'97. All assembly members are requested to attend the same. Your valuable suggestions are welcome. FIRA will be officially formed on June 5th, 1997.
The FIRA executive committee will convene on June 3rd evening at KAIST during MIROSOT'97. All executive members are requested to attend the meeting.
8. Article on MIROSOT'96 in New Scientist Magazine.
Professor John Casti's article on MIROSOT is published in the New Scientist Magazine in its April 26th Issue. The same will be available atsoon.
9. Special Issue of Robotics and Autonomous Systems on MIROSOT.
The special issue of Journal of Robotics and Autonomous Systems on MIROSOT will be published in the following month. This issue contains selected papers from MIROSOT'96 workshop.
10. Results of North American MIROSOT Championship.
The North American MIROSOT championship at UC Davis was held on April 19th. There were two teams one each from Newton Laboratory and Intelligent Control Lab (MIRO II, KAIST). The Newton Lab team topped the competitions.
An article on MIROSOT and North American MIROSOT championship is published by Internet Robot Magazine recently, edited by Mr. Mike Greene, and can be accessed at. The same will be linked to our site soon.
