The FIRA RoboWorld Congress is hosted together with the renowned FIRA RoboWorld Cup, 18th ~ 20th August 2009, the first robotic soccer competition in the world, which started in 1996. The theme of the FIRA congress is "Where Theory and Practice Meet" which genuinely reflects its tradition of combining real-life robotic competitions and high quality presentations of scientific research in robotics, artificial intelligence, and computer vision.
