[CFP] FIRA SimuroSot category in 2002 FIRA Cup Korea
Dear Colleagues,
My name is Dr. Jun Jo (Griffith Univ., Australia) and I am the chair for the SimuroSot game category. The purpose of this letter is to call for your participation in the 2002 FIRA SimuroSot game of the 2002 FIRA Robot World Cup Korea. As you may already know, SimuroSot is a Robot Soccer game simulated on a computer. The game participants are able to develop strategies and participate in the game without requiring the physical robot sets. There are two types of SimuroSot games: 11 vs. 11 and 5 vs. 5. You can download the SDKs for both 11 vs. 11 and 5 vs. 5 from the FIRA website (www.fira.net).
The strategies for the 11 vs. 11 should be written in C++ programming language. This program consists of a server which maintains the soccer game environments (playground, robots, score-board, etc.) and two client programs which include the game strategies.
For the 5 vs. 5 SimuroSot game, the strategies can be developed in either C++ or Lingo, a Script Language for Macromedia Director. If you have strategies that have been developed for the MiroSot game, you will be able to transfer and use them with the SimuroSot game. Of course, this will require some minor modification. The install program includes an SDK, a help file and some example strategies for both C++ and Lingo programmers.
The platform programs will often be debugged or will be updated with new Help, User Interface and FAQs. However, we will endeavour to minimise the impact of these changes so that they will not significantly affect your programming structure.
If you would like to participate in SimuroSot category, please complete Registration Form and return it to fira@fira.net. The Registration Form is as below and is also available at the FIRA website (http://www.fira.net).
