Organized by Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)
Supported by Federation of International Robot-soccer Association (FIRA)
The 5th International Conference on Simulated Evolution And Learning (SEAL04) will be held from October 26 to 29, 2004 in Busan, Korea, in conjunction with the FIRA Robot World Cup and Congress Korea.
- Period: October 26 to 29, 2004
- Venue: Paradise Hotel, Busan, Korea(www.paradisehotel.co.kr)
- Aims and Scopes
Evolution and learning are two fundamental forms of adaptation. This bi-annual conference aims at exploring these two forms of adaptation and their roles and interactions in adaptive systems. Since 1996, the conference has been a common forum for researchers and practitioners from different backgrounds to exchange new ideas and the latest results in simulated evolution and learning. Papers on cross-fertilization of ideas between evolutionary learning and other machine learning approaches, such as neural network learning, reinforcement learning, decision tree learning, and fuzzy system learning, are strongly encouraged.

Concurrent Events: FIRA Robot World Cup and Congress Korea
SEAL'04 will be held in conjunction with the FIRA Robot World Cup and Congress Korea. All participants of the conference can watch the FIRA Robot World Cup Games played by robot soccer teams from all over the world! This provides a good opportunity for scientists and engineers to interact with one another in a relaxing but stimulating environment.

About Venue: Busan
Busan is the second largest city in Korea. Its deep harbor and gentle tides have allowed it to grow into the largest container handling port in the country and the third largest in the world, with potential for even more growth. Its natural endowments and rich history have resulted in Busan's increasing reputation as a world class city of tourism and culture.Busan is proud to be playing a major role on the world stage with its hosting of the 2002 Asian Games and its participation in hosting the 2002 World Cup Korea/Japan. We look forward to sharing the splendor of modern Busan and the energy of its residents with visitors from near and far.
